President - Dr Elizabeth Ogboli - Nwasor MBBS, DA, FWACS, FICS, MPH, DA(WFSA), JP
Prof Elizabeth Ogboli Nwasor is the President of the Nigerian Society of Anaesthetists (NSA), and President of the IASP Cancer Pain Special Interest Group. She is also Vice President II of the Society for the Study of Pain, Nigeria (SSPN). She is a member of the Education Committee of the World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists (WFSA), and a former member of the Faculty Board of Anaesthesia of the West African College of Surgeons. She was the Mace Bearer of the West African College of Surgeons from 2011-2017. She is also the immediate Past President of Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria, Kaduna State Branch.
Dr. Elizabeth Onuwa Ogboli Nwasor MBBS, FWACS, MPH, graduated from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria School of Medicine in 1990. She finished her anaesthesia Residency training and became a Specialist in Anaesthesia in 2001. She received her Masters in Public Health at the Ahmadu Bello University School of Medicine in 2010. She has participated in a number of educational projects and is a recipient of numerous scholarships, awards and grants.
She is a Professor of Obstetric Anaesthesia and pain Management in the department of Anaesthesia, Faculty of Clinical Sciences, College of Medical Sciences, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria and Chief Consultant, Head Obstetric Anaesthesia Unit, Department of Anaesthesia ABUTH Zaria, Kaduna State, Nigeria. She is also the Chair, Pain Management Team and Pain Relief In Labour Service, ABUTH Zaria, Kaduna State, Nigeria.
She is the Hospital Champion, Pain Free Hospital Initiative ABUTH Zaria. Professor Nwasor is also the Programme Lead for the WFSA Obstetric Anaesthesia Fellowship Programme in Nigeria.
Prof Ogboli Nwasor is an author and co-author/editor of 5 Medical books including a textbook titled ‘Introductory Anaesthesiology’ and has over 40 articles in international and national peer-reviewed medical journals. She has presented over sixty-five (65) papers at conferences, seminars and workshops as well as in official conference proceedings. Her main scientific interests and specialization are in the fields of Obstetric Anaesthesia, Pain Management and Palliative Care, Pain Education, Patient Safety and Clinical Quality. She is married with Children

Born on the 3rd of December, hail from Dema Town in ANDONI LGA of Rivers state. Graduated from the College of Medicine of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Holder of Prof Ogan's award Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology UNN 1996. Best Resident award University of Portharcourt teaching hospital.2008. Fmr President association of Resident doctors UPTH, Had observership in cardiothoracic Anaesthesia at the Edith Wolfson medical center Holon Israel 2009, Post graduate diploma in Anaesthesia 2007, Fellow of the West African college of Surgeons 2013,
Fellowship in Intensive care Medicine at the Christian Medical college Vellore India Aug 2017/ aug 2018. Senior Lecturer in Anaesthesia and Head of the Intensive care unit UPTH. Areas of Interest are: Maternal critical care, Cardiothoracic and Neuroanaesthesia.. Hobbies: Politics, Fishing and Spacephysics.
National NSA Secretary- Dr Aderonke Adesiyan
Dr. Aderonke Adesiyan obtained her MBBS at the University College Hospital (UCH) in 2001 at Ibadan. She had her residency training at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) and Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH). She obtained a diploma in Anaesthesia in 2009 and a fellowship of the West African College of Surgeons in 2014. She currently works in the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital Ikeja Lagos as a Consultant.
Her areas of interest are Obstetric Anaesthesia, Regional Anaesthesia and training of Anaesthetic manpower especially for the private sector.
She is a member of the Society of Obstetric Anaesthetists of Nigeria, Critical care Society of Nigeria and the Obstetric Anaesthetists’ Association of the United Kingdom (UK). She believes in partnerships to enhance the provision of well trained Anaesthetic manpower for the growing population in Nigeria.
She has a passion for mentoring, training and continuous education of doctors and support staff in Anaesthesia . She is married with children.
Assistant Secretary General - Dr Nkechi Okojie
Dr Okojie is a consultant anaesthetist at The University of Benin Teaching Hospital. She obtained her medical degree from the college of medicine, University of Benin in 2004. She had her housemanship training at the Central Hospital Benin City after which she proceeded for the mandatory national youth service corps at the General Hospital Neni Anambra State. Her experience in the surgical specialties during this period sparked interests in anaesthesia following which she proceeded to University of Benin Teaching Hospital Benin City for her residency training in anaesthesia. She completed the training in 2012 and obtained fellowship in anaesthesia from the West African College of Surgeons and national postgraduate medical college of Nigeria in 2014. She has vast experience in obstetric anaesthesia as well as other areas in Anaesthesia and has numerous publications in this speciality. She has attended many conferences and has served in scientific committees and in the LOCs of such conferences. She is a member of many organisations including NMA, SSPN, SOAN, among others. She is happily married to a urologist and they are blessed with four children.
Treasurer - Dr Morayo Salawu
I had my medical degree from Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Zaria, Kaduna State in 2003. I did my housemanship there also then proceeded for mandatory youth service in National Hospital, Abuja in the department of Anaesthesia in 2005. There, I developed an interest in Anaesthesia and proceeded to do residency programme in 2006 and completed in 2014 obtaining the fellowship from National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria. I was the best candidate and got 2 prizes in my year. I am currently working at the National Hospital in Abuja. I'm happily married with children. My interests include research, training and mentoring.I also have special interest in neuroanaesthesia and I am currently heading Neuroanaesthesia team in National Hospital.
Financial Secretary - Dr Otu Etta
Dr Otu Etta is currently a Senior Consultant Anaesthetist at the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. He had his undergraduate medical education at the University of Calabar where he graduated in 2001/2002. He began his postgraduate training (residency) in Anaesthesia in 2006/2007, and completed the program in April 2013 with an award of Diploma (DAWACS 2009) and Fellowship(FWACS) of the West African College of Surgeons. Also, in 2011 he underwent a Fellowship training in Regional Anaesthesia in Ganga Hospital, India.
Dr Etta is interested in mentoring young Anaesthetists, pain medicine and research. So far, he has published over fifteen papers in reputable local and international Journals.
He is happily married with children and plays Tennis recreationally.

Ex- Offico - Dr Bisola Onajin - Obembe
Dr. Onajin-Obembe is a the returning president of the Nigeria Society of Anaesthetists and Consultant Anaesthesiologist at the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. She practices and teaches paediatric anaesthesia, as well as anaesthesia for maxillofacial and ear, nose and throat surgeries, and she has publications in these areas. Dr. Onajin-Obembe was the West African Health Organization Fellow for professional and linguistic exchange of health professionals within ECOWAS in 2011 at Service d’Anesthésie Réanimation, Centre National Hospitalier et Universitaire de Cotonou.
Dr. Onajin-Obembe has developed interests in team building, leadership, strategy and organizational change management of which she plays roles within and outside Nigeria. She served the Nigerian Society of Anaesthetists at various times in the past as Public Relations Officer, Executive Secretary and also Vice President. She is currently Chairman, African Regional Section of the World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists; and Member, Implementation Planning Committee of the Lancet Commission on Global Surgery. She completed her MBA in International Hospital Management at the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management, Germany in 2012. She is happily married to Chief Bunmi Obembe (FNSE) and is blessed with three sons, two daughters, a son-in-law and a grand-daughter.
